Crystal Palace are nearing an agreement for the permanent signing of Nice forward Evann Guessand, as they look to bolster Oliver Glasner's attack ahead of a first European campaign in the club's history.
Guessand is a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line, and is capable of both creating and finishing attacks. He possesses a combination of pace, strength, and height that compliments Glasner's duel-winning philosophy to building a competitive squad.
Nice are understood to be looking for a fee in the region of £25m, and although there is still a £5m gap in valuation between the two clubs, The Palace Way understands that there is confidence that the deal will get done, providing Glasner with a massive boost.
The Austrian manager, who led Palace to their first-ever major trophy, revealed his frustrations over Palace's slow movement in the transfer market last month.
Palace are also interested in signing a dynamic midfielder capable of carrying the ball and breaking up attacks, and continue to explore possibilities at right wing-back and centre-back.
Their business in these positions may be affected by the future of Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze, who remain sought after by a multitude of clubs.
