The Palace Way understands that Crystal Palace are pushing for Juventus winger Matias Soule, and he is their preferred target to replace Michael Olise long-term. Soule has had an extremely impressive loan at Frosinone in Serie A, scoring 11 goals and bagging 3 assists.
The Argentinian U20 international began his career at CA Vélez Sarsfield, which has also produced recent talents such as Atlanta’s Thiago Almada and Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni, before moving to Juventus in 2020. He is widely known to idolise compatriot Lionel Messi, but has been compared more frequently to Angel Di Maria.
Palace view Soule as a like-for-like Olise replacement, although they have different styles of play - Soule is more of an inside forward, whilst Olise can play both as an inverted touchline winger and as more of a 10. Similar to Olise, however, Soule is a threat from both direct and indirect set-pieces.
It is believed that Palace would prefer to sign Soule earlier in the transfer window, in order to ensure a low price. It’s possible that a large sale, as expected by Palace, could cause Juventus to increase their asking price.

Palace have not yet determined if Soule should only be signed in the case that Olise leaves the club, with the uncertainty over Olise’s own future somewhat clashing with the preference to sign Soule as soon as possible.
If Olise were to be sold late in the window, Palace would likely target an alternative to Soule - however, the identity of such a player is currently unclear.
Palace scouts have frequently attended Norwich City games this season to watch Gabriel Sara, a left-footed attacking midfielder who can play as both an 8 and a 10. He has very little experience out wide - however, this might not necessarily be a bad thing, with Glasner choosing to operate without out-and-out wingers in his formation, and width instead offered by the wing-backs.
Palace fans can expect a stressful but exciting summer, with high-profile signings and departures both effectively guaranteed. There will also be movement at board level, with owner John Textor seeking to sell his 40% in the club.
