Crystal Palace are setting their sights on Benfica’s Tomas Araujo and Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix to bolster defensive options.
Araujo, a product of Benfica’s academy, has been a long-term target and is thought to be particularly admired by Sporting Director Dougie Freedman.
The Eagles have ramped up their interest in recent days and have now submitted a formal bid in the wake of Joachim Andersen’s likely departure to Fulham.
The offer for 28 year-old Dane, who has two years left on his contract, was deemed too good to turn down.
Palace have also entered into discussions with Wolfsburg over the signing of Maxence Lacroix and have submitted a bid worth over £10 million.
No agreement has been reached between the two clubs over the price, but the German side are thought to be flexible considering the Frenchman only has a year remaining on his deal.
The 24 year-old has been tracked extensively by the club and is viewed as the perfect fit should Marc Guehi or Andersen leave.
