Crystal Palace Transfer Window Live: Latest on Diomande, Diouf, Eze

Crystal Palace Transfer Window Live: Latest on Diomande, Diouf, Eze

Last updated at 22:00

There's too much noise out there to stay up to date on Crystal Palace - so we've put it all in one place, compiled with our editor's honest thoughts on each story.

"Ousmane Diomande is on his way to Palace for €55M"

Is he? First I'm hearing about it. "On his way" is doing some seriously heavy lifting here.

There has been no recent progress on this deal due to Lisbon's high asking price, but Palace will be the first on the phone should they lower their demands as the window goes on.

A deal for Diomande is dependent on Marc Guehi's situation, which in turn is affected by the endless delays to UEFA's ruling on Palace's status in the Europa League next season.

"Burnley want Andy Diouf for £17m; not a priority for Glasner"

I can't speak with authority about the Burnley side of things, but Palace cannot prioritise signing a midfielder over other targets in the current climate. It is arguably the position where they have the most depth, and the need to bring in a younger and more mobile partner for Adam Wharton is dependent on the amount of games they will play next season - which of course will be affected by the looming UEFA ruling.

Diouf is admired and has been tracked for quite some time now. Palace would likely have already made an offer if they had clarity over their European plans.

"Arsenal put Eberechi Eze high among options to bolster attack"

Source: David Ornstein

This is true, but don't get your hopes up/down.

According to Ornstein, Arsenal are interested in Eberechi Eze in addition to their search for a left-winger. This indicates that he's being looked at to play centrally, which is a new development in the story.

However, as written yesterday, none of the noise around Eze matters until his £68m release clause as met - and Arsenal would look to avoid paying that fee in order to find value in the deal.

Therefore, until Arsenal become comfortable paying £68m, any prospective deal is at an impasse. And that's before the issue of convincing Eze to join the club that released him as a teenager, and assuring him of regular gametime in a World Cup year.
