Crystal Palace have made Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa their top summer target to replace the departing Michael Olise, The Palace Way understands.
As exclusively reported by The Palace Way earlier this month, Palace hold the 19-year-old winger in high regard and have now begun talks for the Norwegian international.
It is understood that the player is keen on the move after being convinced by Palace’s long-term project.
Compromise will need to be found between both clubs however as Palace are reluctant to part with more than £20 million.
Club Brugge, who had agreed a deal worth up to £31.5m with Brentford for the sale of Nusa in January 2023, will understandably want to strike a similar deal with the Eagles.
The Palace hierarchy have acted quickly in the transfer window, with the signing of Daichi Kamada expected to be announced next week.
Kamada will be Palace’s second summer acquisition after the arrival of Moroccan centre-back Chadi Riad from Real Betis earlier this month.
The club’s interest in Matías Soule remains, but the high fee he would command is likely to be a stumbling block. Palace are looking to strengthen other areas of their squad and are therefore reluctant to overspend on individual players.
In addition to their overseas targets, multiple young domestic players have been scouted, including Jaden Philogene and Jobe Bellingham. The latter has been the subject of transfer discussions in recent days, with Oliver Glasner keen on the 18-year-old midfielder.
